Sandra K. (Sandy) Meyer, age 85, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on June 1, 1940, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Sandy spent much of her life in Indiana before relocating to Florida. She was a strong, independent, and hard-working woman whose love for her family knew no bounds.
She was preceded in death by her mother Arlene Wasson, step-father D. O. Wasson, father Elmer Johnston, step-mother Vernette Johnston, her beloved husband, Kenneth Meyer; her son, Timothy Meyer, Sr., her daughter, Rhonda Smith, and her sister Jo Anne Carlisle. She was a dedicated mother to her daughters Misty Wuest (Robert), Pamela Stinson (Dan), Amanda Coburn, Angela Phillips, and Christina Hogg (Steve). She is also survived by her brothers Michael Wasson and Deo Wasson and several nieces and nephews. Sandy was a proud nana to 20 grandchildren and was lovingly known as “Nana” to many others she embraced as her own. She was also a devoted great-grandmother to many.
Sandy attended Butler High School and held various roles throughout her life, including a long and dedicated career with Circle K Corporation, where she worked as a clerk, assistant manager, and manager. Her co-workers and customers alike appreciated her warm heart, tireless work ethic, and no-nonsense attitude. Many of her co-workers and patrons often lovingly referred to her as “Sarge”.
In her younger years, Sandy loved playing softball and remained active throughout her life, enjoying pool, bowling, and especially watching baseball—any game she could find. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was her children and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, fiercely loving and endlessly supportive.
As a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sandy found strength in her faith and joy in attending church with her family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Faupel Funeral Home in New Port Richey, FL. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in New Port Richey, with internment immediately following at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens. A luncheon will be held at the church following the graveside service.
Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made in Sandy’s memory to HPH Hospice or Faith Lutheran Church.
We find comfort in the words of John 14:1-3:
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home... When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”
Sandy will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, strength, and devotion lives on in all who knew her.
