Raymond J. Turbitt, of New Port Richey, FL and Warwick, RI, passed away on January 15, 2026, in New Port Richey. He was born on May 22, 1944, in Providence, Rhode Island, to John and Mary (Holmes) Turbitt. He is leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and kindness.
Ray was the beloved husband of Judith "Sharon" Turbitt, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. He dedicated his career to teaching mathematics in the Warwick Public Schools and Bryant University in Smithfield, RI, positively impacting generations of students.
He also coached Little League baseball and basketball. Ray could be found volunteering around his community or enjoying the great outdoors. He loved kayaking, biking, swimming, and spending time at the beach. Ray loved spending time with his family and friends, and he always looked forward to the next Trivia Night.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Sharon, his family and many beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, his sons, Michael R. Turbitt and Brian P. Turbitt, and his sister, Carol Colbert. Raymond will be remembered for his commitment to education, his generosity, and his devotion to family and community.
