Nancy Kay Blegen, 78, of Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. Born in Sycamore, Illinois, Nancy graduated from Sycamore High School and attended Southern Illinois University, where she was a proud member of the SIU gymnastics team. Her athletic talent and dedication led her to become a two-time World Synchronized Trampoline Champion—a remarkable achievement that reflected her passion and perseverance.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to athletics, Nancy was inducted into the Southern Illinois University Hall of Fame in 1985 and the World Acrobatics Society Hall of Fame in 2003.
Nancy was also a world traveler, embracing new cultures and experiences throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack, and mother, Helen. She is survived by her brother, William (Marilyn) Smith; sister, Sandy (Frank) Lozano; and her children, Tracy Blegen and Brian (Dana) Blegen.
Nancy will be deeply missed by all those she met and befriended. Her vibrant spirit, adventurous heart, and inspiring accomplishments will live on in the memories of family and friends.
