Michael Jean Pierre Gagne, 63, of Port Richey, Florida, passed away on August 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 8, 1961 in Quebec City, Canada, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he was deployed around the world, but always found his greatest joy in returning home to his family.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Virgie Gagne, whom he cherished deeply. Together they raised their children, David and Kailani, who remember him as both a firm and loving father, a role model of strength, hard work, and faith. He also found great pride and happiness in being a grandfather, never hesitating to step in as both a mentor and a father figure to his grandson David jr.
Known for his tough exterior and sarcastic humor, those who truly knew him saw his softer side — a man who expressed love through his actions, whether it was rubbing his wife’s head until she fell asleep, taking his children fishing, or sharing his meals with them. His adventurous spirit, bravery, and love for the ocean created memories that his family will treasure forever.
He is survived by his wife Virgie, children David and Kailani, grandson David Jr., his siblings Annie, Remi, and Mario, and many extended family members and friends across the United States and Canada.
Above all, he will be remembered as a man of faith, love, and devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the example he set as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
The Gagne family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time of loss.
