Mary J. Sengel

Mar 12, 1946 — Sep 13, 2026

New Port Richey, Florida

Mary (Munno) Sengel, 80, passed away on September 13, 2026, in New Port Richey, Florida.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 12, 1946, Mary was lovingly raised by George and Rose Funai, who preceded her in death. She later married the love of her life, Richard Sengel, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage before his passing.

Mary is survived by her sister, Phyllis Martino. She was predeceased by her brothers, John Anthony Munno and Michael Munno.

Mary was the devoted mother of four daughters: Rosemary Ocampo; Laura Rivera and her husband, Benjamin; Pamela Cupo and her husband, Richard; and Christine Stanley and her husband, Michael.

She was the proud and loving grandmother of Richard Ocampo and his wife, Tiffany; Benjamin Rivera (Anna); Sarah Hammelman and her husband, Nicholas; Nicholas Cupo and his wife, Taylor; Stephen Cupo; Dylan Stanley; Anthony Cupo; Donovan Stanley; Victoria Stanley; and Matthew Cupo. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Liam and Eliana Ocampo.

Mary lived a beautiful life, always surrounded by her family. She worked in Manhattan for many years before moving to Florida. Mary and Richard always had a house full of people and filled their home with warmth, laughter, and love. They loved dancing together and bringing happiness to everyone around them.

Mary loved Zumba and treasured the friendships she made with the ladies in each of her classes. Shopping with her daughters and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always at the top of her list.

Once you met Mary, you automatically became part of her family. She had a warm heart, welcomed everyone with her beautiful smile, and possessed a remarkable ability to make people laugh—even when the joke was at her own expense. She was truly one of a kind.

Mary will be loved and missed beyond measure. Her family finds comfort in imagining her reunited with Richard, dancing together once again in Heaven.
