Mary M. Amato, of New Port Richey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 27, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born on October 12, 1929, in Barano d'Ischia, Italy, and migrated to the United States when she was 5 years young. She quickly and proudly embraced her American citizenship. Mary was also a dedicated member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and a cherished employee for many years.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Salvatore Samuel Amato. She is survived by her two children, Salvatore, and Dawn, as well as her four grandchildren, Samantha, Barbara, Jason, and Julian, and her twelve great-grandchildren: Paige, John, Matthew, Raymond, Elena, Sofia, Angel, Shade, Dominick, Charlotte, Allison, and JJ. She also leaves behind two sisters, Josephine, and Jean, and two brothers-in-law, Nicholas, Steven and Joseph Amato, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her, excelling in her roles as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.Her departure comes with great sadness for those who loved her dearly, and her memory will forever be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
