Marti J Warren

October 1, 1961 — March 7, 2019

Marti James Warren, age 57, passed away peacefully at home with his husband Andy on March 7, 2019 after a long, brave, courageous battle with cancer. Marti was born on October 1, 1961, in Alton, Illinois, the son of Norman and Bernice (Bangart) Warren. Formerly from Edwardsville, Illinois, Marti moved to Florida in 1983 and resided primarily in the Tampa Bay Area for several years.  He has moved with his husband to Manatee County, Florida in 2009 where they rescued animals having a total of 27 dogs and 9 cats that they adopted saving most from certain death.  Marti became a true advocate for animals in need.   

He is survived by his loving devoted husband Andy Dicks of Port Richey, FL ; his son Albert (Amy) Warren, daughters Amanda (Nikki Malcolm) Warren, and Alyse (Joel) Perez; and three grandsons, Zachary and Jaxon Warren, and Oliver Perez, all of Tampa, Florida. Marti is also survived by his four sisters Cynthia (Jose) Martinez of St. Louis, MO; Gail (David) Sido of Troy, IL; Beverly (Donald) Holtmann of Glen Carbon, IL; Anna (Kenneth) Slattery of Glen Carbon, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marti was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy Johnson, and a brother, John Warren.

Per his wishes, Marti will be cremated. There will be no services, however memories and pictures are welcomed on the “In Loving Memory of Marti Warren” Facebook group. Memorial donations may be made to Moonracer No Kill Animal Rescue (www.moonraceranimalrescue.com) – Lisa Williams 941-345-2441 or the American Cancer Society or HPH Hospice. Faupel Funeral Home, 7524 Ridge Road, Port Richey, FL 34668, is in charge of arrangements.
