Marian Johana Stevens

Marian Johana Stevens, 90, of New Port Richey, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 21st 2024. Her departure comes with great sadness to all who knew her in the extraordinary and long life she lived.  

Marian was born March 4th, 1934 to Joseph Volena and Anna Bagamery in her hometown of South River, New Jersey. 

After Marian graduated high school, she would go on to Nursing School. Marian obtained her RN license from All Souls Hospital and would work in various facets of this field. From serving as a nurse at her children’s school to working as an Operating Room nurse, Marian excelled in mentoring those entering the career field and was known to many for the exceptional care she provided her patients. Not long into the start of her career, Marian met William Stevens and the two became inseparable. William and Marian married November 9th, 1957 and would later welcome their first child, Gary William, on November 9th, 1963 (their 6th wedding anniversary). Paul Lawrence, their second and final child, was born January 5th, 1965. It was in Florham Park, New Jersey that William and Marian would raise their children and build a beautiful life together. 

In 1994, Marian retired from Morristown Memorial Hospital and spent much of her retirement traveling with her husband and spending time with family and friends. In her free time she enjoyed cross stitch, sewing, drawing, painting, and keeping busy. Marian loved being a grandmother and will always be remembered for her generosity and her delicious Hungarian dishes.  

Marian was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband William. Marian is survived by her half sister Darlene, sons Gary (Lara) and Paul (Tina), and their four grandchildren Julieann, Benjamin, Joseph and Chloe.  

Services will be held for family and friends at Faupel Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, April 27th, 2024. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time.
