Maria P. Covian

Maria del Pilar Covian was born in Chile and raised in Jersey city, New Jersey. She came from humble beginnings, remained light hearted through hard moments in her childhood. Once her family grew with two brothers she was not only sister but was seen as a second mother to them. From watching and walking to being their reliable person. Maria took care of them the best she could. With active brothers in the house, Maria fell in love with music.

She threw herself into the music of the time and studied lyrics to her favorite artists. No one could’ve interrupted her while her song was on. Along with that, she would love to dance and sing her heart out. As the years passed, Maria grew into being a go getter and a hard worker. Her personality flourished into a radiant, humorous and sassy soul. She loved exploring New York City from having a good time to shopping for hours with her mom or trying different restaurants. Maria was then married and had two beautiful daughters who she absolutely loved. In 2008, she had a massive stroke that could’ve taken her life earlier but God had other plans. Her new goal in life was to walk again.

After a life event, her mother, daughter and herself moved to Florida. She was so resilient on her road to recovery from physical therapy to receiving Botox for her curled arm and foot. Maria has persevered through all trials and tribulations of life. Through tough times she held on to God and her family as her source of energy to push through. She fully dove into her Christian faith and was baptized in 2022 .

Through a difficult year, God saw his child and called her home this month of September. Even though it brings us sorrow, Maria wanted a celebration of her life with music, good food and to speak about her positive memories.

Friends and family are welcome to join for Maria's visitation at 10 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Faupel Funeral Home, 7524 Ridge Rd, Port Richey, FL 34668. A celebration of life will follow at 11 AM at Faupel Funeral Home.
