Margaret Mary (Corcoran) Scicchitano was born June 6, 1937, in Syracuse, New York. Peggy was the loving daughter of the late William and Helen Corcoran. She earned her nursing degree from Canisus College in Buffalo, NY.
Following graduation, she worked as a nurse at Memorial Hospital in Niagara Falls and met the love of her life. On April 23, 1960, Peggy married Dr. David C. Scicchitano at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls, NY,
The couple moved to Pennsylvania where she continued nursing at Geisinger Hospital, Danville, PA. She was a wonderful wife, mom, and friend to her 7 children, 13 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, their spouses, 7 exchange students, and their many friends.
Peggy became an accomplished pilot and was a nurse and co-pilot for an air ambulance company in Elysburg, PA.
After moving to Florida, she managed an annual rosary rally and was an Eucharistic minister at Our Lady Queen of Peace. Everyone who met her felt her devotion to her family and faith. She will be missed.
Surviving, are her children and their spouses, David Scicchitano of Mount Carmel, Marianne and Chris Rexer of Scottsdale, Az. William and Lynn of Irmo South Carolina, Peggy and Charlie Moncavage of Nazareth Mary Scicchitano of New Port Richey, Fl. and Robert and Elizabeth Scicchitano of Mount Carmel. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tim & Traci Rexer, Fillip & Lea Scicchitano, Catie & Gilbert Doback, Hallie Rexer, Aaron Scicchitano, Kenny Rexer, Nicholas Scicchitano, Evelina Scicchitano, Nicola Scicchitano, Stephanie Moncavage, Matthew Scicchitano, Angela Moncavage; 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Joyce Scicchitano of Prospect Park, Pa and her brother-in-law, Gordian Ehrlacher of Union City, IN.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, both of her parents, her siblings and their spouses.
There will be celebrations of Peggy’s life in Florida and Pennsylvania . In Fl, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Feb. 17 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace in New Port Richey, FL.
In PA, viewing will be held on Feb. 21.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township.
