Lisa Jayne Vayre

December 24, 1964 — November 25, 2025

Lisa Jayne Vayre, age 60, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, after a brief illness with lung cancer, surrounded by her family.

Born on Christmas Eve, 1964 in Bay City MI, the eighth of ten children, she grew up surrounded by a large, lively family who embraced her feisty personality. Lisa could strike up a conversation with anyone she came in contact with, including her beloved fur babies. She definitely had the gift to gab.

In her youth, Lisa swam with the Bay City Elk’s Club swim team and excelled in gymnastics, especially in the floor event. She graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1983 and soon after moved to Florida, where she built a long and dedicated career in the insurance industry. For many years, she proudly served with State Farm Insurance, loving every minute.

Lisa’s heart was as full as her graciousness. She loved to cook, gather people around her table, and create a social environment. Her dogs were her cherished companions. But her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply.

Lisa is survived by her children, Mari Vayre (Joseph Houseman) and James Fontes (Diana Marie Baldi); grandchildren Juliette, Joseph, and Eric James (EJ); siblings Michelle, Steve (Sheri), Jon, Danielle (Jim Huset), and Vanessa (Dave Ulmer); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and her faithful fur baby Buddy.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary (Foley) Vayre, grandparents; Walter and Della (Pobalis) Vayre and Lewis and Dorothy (Schumann) Foley and grandpa Ray VanPelt, siblings; Brian, Paula Litz, Lynette Selthofner Wirt, Jenee (Royce Herbolsheimer) (Bob McKenzie), sister-in-law Therese Vayre; nephew AJ Herbolsheimer, niece Dani Ulmer, fur baby CoCo and loved ones who surely welcomed her home.

Lisa’s humor, generosity, and her gift to gab will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her. A big thank you to her son James and daughter-in-law Diana for their loving care they gave to her. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
