Linda C Harrison

d. June 7, 2020

Linda “Carol” Harrison, 76, of 1305 Spring Lake Cove Lane #100, Fruitland Park, went home to be with our Lord, with loving family by her side, June 7, 2020, at Cornerstone Hospice House, The Villages, Florida. She was born in Kingsport, TN., and came to Florida from North Carolina recently to live near her daughter, Diana and family. She was a retired Caregiver. She was attending church, when able, at New Bethel Community Church, Summerfield, Florida She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother being dearly cherished by all who knew her. She was a dedicated full-time Caregiver to Jimmy and treasured putting her all into doing that for him and everyone she knew, es pecially children and babies. Carol adored babies and could sit all day holding and coddling newborns. All babies were beautiful to her!! She put her heart and soul into meeting the needs of her loved ones to the sacrifice of her own health. And that carried to the kitchen where she wanted to cook for you—fix you a drink—make you feel comfortable and cared for in her presence. You could see the empty look on her face if you went to leave and you had not ‘let “Carol (Mom)” utilize her God-given abilities to take-care of you. Always having a smile on her face; she never met a stranger. She loved to travel. Once she ‘took’ to the plane, she had dreams of going places. However, ultimately her favorite way to travel was in the car……Elvis on the radio…...rolling down the road! And she was blessed with plenty of family to travel and see, her favorite place, the hills of Tennessee! She would always say, “I’ll be back soon!” But now she is on another journey, having made the decision to follow her Lord, she has departed on her final destination. We will see you again, we just do not know how soon! Her birth father, PFC Frank Nickels of the 82 Airborne DIV, died in WWII. Preceded in death by: mother and stepfather, Zella and Carl Castle; sister, Sandra Edmonds; Aunt Vena Rogers; nieces, Debra Douglas and Carla Forbes; nephew, Derrick Douglas. Survived by: Four daughters, Diana Curtis and husband Mark, Karen Elrod and husband Robert, Susan Edwards and husband James, Beth Ciola and husband Paul; brothers, Dr. Frank Nickels and wife Sharon, Curtis Castle and wife Judy, Dennis Castle and wife Pam; sister, Cheryl Castle; cousin, Sharon Sorace; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; One (1) great-great-grandchild; also several nieces and nephews.
