Lewis G. Zackal

ZACKAL, Lewis, Sr. 74, of Port Richey, FL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 21, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Lewis was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 5, 1943, the son of the late Lewis Zackal and Anne Bacha Zackal. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam war. He then worked 19 years for U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh. He relocated his family to Clearwater in 1985. He worked and then retired from the Pinellas County School System. He enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything. He will be missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his sons Lewis G. Zackal, Jr. (Sherry), Scott Zackal (Cathy); daughter Kelly Barfield (Kees); Grandchildren: Louis, Catherine, Aubrey, Megan, Kacee and Kayla. Viewing and Visitation will be Thursday, August 23rd at Faupel Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. There will be a brief Funeral service on Friday, August 24th at 10:30am at Faupel Funeral Home followed by internment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a Veterans group of your choice.
