Leonard Palman Wasilewski, Jr. age 75, of Port Richey, Florida passed away August 10, 2023. He was born December 2, 1947 in Superior, Wisconsin to Leonard Sr. and Lucille Wasilewski (Burger). Leonard is survived by his two children Lyndsay Brito of Jacksonville, Florida and Leonard III of New Port Richey, Florida; three grandchildren, a sister Linda White of Port Richey; a brother Stephen of Omaha, Nebraska; one niece and four nephews.
Leonard served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War as a Sargent (squad leader) in Echo Company. He was wounded in action during Operation Beacon Star on May 1, 1967 during the hill fights around Khe Sahn, Vietnam. As a Disabled American Veteran he spent much of his time doing volunteer work for the Spring Hill VFW. Leonard's love for his country and his love for his Lord were very important to him.
Leonard's favorite pastime was deep sea fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, and when not fishing then working in several shipyards along the Atlantic coastline leading the repair of or construction of large ships. His life seemed to revolve around water, building ships or fishing and watching "Wicked Tuna" type shows on television.
Leonard will be escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders from Faupel Funeral Home to Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on August 25, 2023. His graveside service starts at 11:00 AM with military honors conducted by The Marine Corp League of Spring Hill. A celebration of Life will follow at the Spring Hill VFW on County Line Rd.
