Lena Marie LaPorta, a spirited soul born on March 2, 1961, in Brooklyn, NY, left us too soon at the age of 64 on June 29, 2025. Though her time was cut short, she lived a life bursting with joy, laughter, and a passion for Elvis tunes and Christmas spirit that would warm even the frostiest of hearts.
Lena was known for her hobbies that were as colorful as her personality—she took to crocheting blankets with finesse and adored piecing together puzzles. She never missed an opportunity for fun, particularly when it involved a trip to the Hard Rock Cafe, where music and good vibes flowed.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her brother Anthony LaPorta, and sisters Frances Grammatas, Millie LaPorta, and Patricia Hoffman. The family tree grows further with numerous loving nieces, nephews, , aunts, uncles, and cousins—proof that Lena’s capacity to love was as vast as her collection of Elvis memorabilia.
To celebrate Lena’s life, a Mass will be held on July 12, 2025, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Holiday, FL. Services will commence at 10:00 AM, and we can only hope the church will allow a few Elvis tracks in her honor. As we bid adieu to a true original, we remember the sparkling memories she left us, one crochet stitch and puzzle piece at a time.
