Kenneth L. Volk

February 13, 2017 — February 25, 2017

Ken Volk lost his year long, hard fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Feb 13, 2017at the age of 66. He was born and raised on LI, NY. Son of Jeanette and Kenneth Volk (dec), brother of Karen (dec), Rosemarie (dec) and William. Ken went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Savino in 1971. Together they had three kids, Deena, Kenny, and Kerry. In 1988 they moved to Florida and eventually became the proud grandparents of Blake, Kailey, Robert (Anthony), Karenna and Evan. He loved ALL his family and leaves many behind including, nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws, Ken was always a hard worker, doing whatever it took to give his family a good life. Before his semi retirement last year, he was the Superintendent of the Seven Hills Golf course in Spring Hill. He loved his “toys” including his Harley Davidson and his 87 Corvette. His favorite past times was watching the Tampa Bay Lightning, Nascar, NFL and golf. Ken’s love of hockey and the youth in our area, provoked Ken and his business partner Jim Grassini to start ALL SPORTS ARENA inline hockey rink. They started in a small building in Hudson and in 2002 built the new larger location in New Port Richey. Together they helped today’s youth grow into some fine athletes, including his nephew NIck, his son-in-law Anton and his grandson Anthony. Some of these young men have taken some huge strides in hockey, both in roller and ice, going on to play in college, juniors and the military. Even though he no longer owns the rink, he is still known to so many young men and women as Pop or KV. In reality Ken had hundreds of kids, he never let a kid or anyone else in need, go without food or a roof over their head. EVERYONE was family to him. “Tell someone you love them today because tomorrow is not promised. TO MY family and my friends, I love you” In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family for Ken’s outstanding medical bills are appreciated. On Saturday February 25, 2017 there will be a gathering from 2 p.m. to 4p.m. with service at 3:00 p.m. at Faupel Funeral Home.
