John T. (Jack) Ward previous businessman and long-time resident of Warsaw joined our Lord in Heaven on Saturday, September 8th. Jack was born in Schenectady, NY on Jan. 31, 1930. He served our nation proudly, a US Navy Veteran deployed during the Korean War on the USS Wright Aircraft Carrier. After his service, he spent his career with Brunswick Corporation living in Chicago. Later in his career he decided to take a leap of faith, moved his family and purchased Bob King Volkswagen in Warsaw, IN. He was the proud owner of Jack Ward Imports and later brought both Audi and Mazda to Warsaw. He also owned Jack Ward Chevrolet (now Lakeside). He also owned Warsaw Honda in the 70’s and brought Honda Motorcycles to Warsaw. He loved the water, boating and living on Winona Lake. Jack was a member of Sacred Heart Parish as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He later retired and moved to Florida and enjoyed living in the Florida sunshine and playing golf. He was an avid sports fan, loved the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Tampa Bay Rays and any other sport he could watch! He loved when his family visited and they created a lot of memories. He will be forever missed. He was married 65 years to his wife Mary. Leaving behind; Daughters; Patricia (Doug) Miller, Holiday Florida – Mary Jane (Dustin Bradway) Ward, Warsaw- Deb (Robert) Smith, Houston, TX and a son John Ward, Warsaw. He also leaves a legacy to 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at Faupel Funeral Home in Port Richey, Florida on Friday, September 14th at 6pm with a bag pipe ceremony at sunset. On Saturday, a Mass in honor of Jack will take place at St. James Apostle Catholic Church, Port Richey Florida, at 10 am with a Celebration of Life following.
