LIPORI, John E., 82 died July 27, 2020 in Port Richey, FL. He was born in Ozone Park, NY to the late Pat and Adeline. He later moved to Richmond Hill, NY where he grew up. He married Sylvia on October 13, 1962 and they later moved to Connecticut and various cities within Florida, eventually ending up in Port Richey. John and Sylvia were married for 55 years and she preceded him in death. He found love again and married Regina July 20, 2019.
John loved learning and took education very seriously and was proud that all his children had graduated college. He held many roles in his lifetime including Math Teacher, Airplane Mechanic and Programmer/Analyst but he was a father first and foremost. He supported his children's interests however he could, by coaching their baseball and soccer teams, being active in their high school band booster organization, and countless other activities. He was an avid hockey player, even late into life. John traveled the world playing hockey with the Florida Everblades, an old-timers league, and even played in the Snoopy Senior World Tournament alongside the late Charles Schulz himself. He refereed many hockey games as well. John was a giver and was proud of the fact that he had donated multiple gallons of blood throughout his lifetime even during emergencies. John was a member of and volunteered countless hours for the Knights of Columbus and the Elks. While a member of the Knights of Columbus he even gained the title of Past Grand Knight from the Clearwater and Port Richey chapters.
Survived by his wife, Regina; sons, Paul (Gigi) and Dan; daughters, Dawn, Cheryl (Brian); step-daughters; Renee, Diane, Christine; his brother, Robert; niece Chris and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services are being held at: St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, Port Richey, FL,
Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Masks will be required by those attending.
