Lorenzi, Elvira (Vera)
Vera passed peacefully at home on December 14, 2020 after a long and brave battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Elliot, her daughters, Elizabeth Morin, Emily Riley and Ellen Pearce, 5 grandchildren, Steven, Connor, Lauren, Kristen and Kaitlin and her sister, Rosemary Bancks. She was born in the Bronx, NY on September 18, 1939 and attended Christopher Columbus HS. As a junior, she was the first Co-op student employed by the NY Atomic Energy Commission. Vera stayed home to raise her three daughters before returning to a career. After several years as secretary to the manager of Sears, she spent 18 years as Administrative Assistant to the President of Oppenheimer & Co. Vera excelled in her managerial, organizational and communication skills. Upon retirement, she donated her time at the local library and spent 12 years as Chairperson of the Volunteer Office at Bayonet Point hospital. Vera loved cooking, reading and traveling with her husband. Most especially, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family. A Service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Moffitt Cancer Center’s Thoracic Oncology Program.
