Diane Coughlin went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2026.
Diane embodied all that was good and fair in this world.
Her sense of humor and quick wit were unmatched.
As the sun set on her life, she made it well-known how proud she was of each of her children and her family. Diane was profoundly courageous while battling her many chronic medical conditions. Each day that she lived, she regarded as a gift.
She was a wonderful, devoted wife and a sincere and caring mother and grandmother. She shared many great memories with her husband of their living in California, Illinois, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico as a Navy wife, with the family finally settling in Florida. Diane was a loving and compassionate Registered Nurse who cared for thousands of patients throughout her lifetime. Diane loved the beach and her time on a number of cruises. She was a devoted Catholic and an active parishioner of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, and when her children were younger was a CCD volunteer.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, the love of her life, Dave. He demonstrated his unfailing love and compassion every moment of their lives together. Her children, Alex Coughlin and Amanda Coughlin, were loved beyond measure and she was extremely proud and loved them with all of her heart. Her caring family - her brother Dennis Diakunczak and wife Ingrid, and sisters, Donna Kenady and Deborah Vach - had a loving relationship with Diane and provided her with much love and support. Her grandchildren, Connor Lamb, Caitlin Lamb, Phoebe Coughlin, and Emma Fuentes provided her with tremendous joy.
She is predeceased by her mother Elizabeth March, her father Nicholas Diakunczak, and stepfather Ralph March.
Her celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, in the St. Joseph’s Room from 9:45-10:45 at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 8400 Monarch Drive, Port Richey, FL 34668 in Diane’s name.
