Daniel Hulet went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 1, 2026, after a courageous three-year battle with melanoma.
Born to Lewis and Celia Hulet, Dan graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1969. He married the love of his life, Karen, on May 1, 1982, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Dan was a faithful member of Calvary Chapel Worship Center, where he enjoyed serving in the Community Center and caring for others. He dedicated many years to his career, working as a cutter operator at Meade School & Office Supplies in Kalamazoo for 22 years before retiring in 2016 from TreeHouse Foods (formerly Ralston Foods) in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Celia Hulet; his sister, Vicki Jakobowski; and his brother, Chuck Hulet.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Karen; his children, Michael Toennessen, Jennifer (Chad) Vanderklok, Ryan (Nicole) Toennessen, Jeremy Hulet, Christian (Cherrisa) Hulet, and Brittanie Hulet; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Dan found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved camping, taking long walks, and spending time with his family, who meant the world to him. He was also a loyal Detroit Lions fan and a proud Michigan State Spartans supporter, always cheering on his favorite teams through every season.
Above all, Dan will be remembered for his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, his dedication to his family, and the kindness and quiet strength he shared with everyone who knew him. His legacy of faith, love, and perseverance will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on August 29, 2026 at Calvary Chapel Worship Center, 6825 Trouble Creek Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34653.
A Celebration of Life in Kalamazoo, Michigan, will follow next summer with the date to be determined.
Donations in Dan's name can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center or The Community Center at Calvary Chapel Worship Center.
