December 19, 1950 — November 11, 2025

New Port Richey, Florida

Cynthia “Cyndee” M. Gause Kingsley, lovingly known as Bubby, passed away on November 11, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished deeply. Born on December 19, 1950 in St. Petersburg, Florida, Cyndee was the daughter of the late Reaco Gause and the late Marilyn “Mema” Stansbury.

Cyndee grew up in Tarpon Springs, where she proudly graduated as a Sponger. Her lifelong love for the water—beaching, island hopping, and fishing—was a defining part of who she was and a passion she passed down to her daughter.

In 1981, Cyndee graduated from the Police Academy and began an extraordinary career with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. Through her dedication, work ethic, and trailblazing spirit, she became the first female sergeant, warden, lieutenant, and captain in the department’s history. She earned a reputation as a devoted officer and was affectionately known as the “employees’ boss,” respected for her fairness, strength, and compassion. Cyndee’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her brothers Brandon Gause and Jimmy (Laurie) Gause; her nieces Melanie (Kasper) Gause and Leslie Gause; and her nephew Jake (Lilith) Gause. She leaves behind her daughter Phaedra (Christopher) Flowers, who will forever carry her spirit forward. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren—Arielle, Cameron, Sierra, and Sadie who were the light of her life. Cyndee was preceded in death by her daughter Cassandra Banaciski.

Known for her playful spirit, Cyndee shared her love of gaming with her grandchildren, teaching them everything from Atari to every Nintendo system that followed. There was no Zelda level she wouldn’t conquer, and she took great joy in watching her grandchildren grow, succeed, and pursue their dreams.

Whether she was known as Cynthia, Cyndee, Sister, Ma’, Mommy, Bubby, or friend, she will be remembered for her caring heart, her unwavering loyalty, and her deep love for the people around her. Her legacy of strength, service, and kindness will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Cyndee will be profoundly missed and forever loved
